Ongoing programmes

Science & Research

Our research programmes investigate how microbial inactivation and bioactive preservation shape postbiotic outcomes across dairy and functional food matrices.

Microbial inactivation

Studies of heat and processing conditions that inactivate microbes while retaining the bioactive fragments associated with postbiotics.

Bioactive preservation

Work on keeping metabolites and cell-derived components stable through storage, handling and food matrix interaction.

Multi-institution projects

Collaborative research with universities and partner institutions exploring interactions with the human microbiome.

Thematic focus

Three areas of inquiry

Gut barrier support

Examining how postbiotic components relate to epithelial barrier function, reported with measured, qualified conclusions.

Shelf stability

Measuring how formulation, temperature and time affect the integrity of postbiotic preparations across shelf life.

Metabolomic characterisation

Profiling metabolite composition to document what each preparation contains, before any functional interpretation is drawn.

Methodology

Standards we hold ourselves to

Peer review and transparency

Methodologies, strain characterisation and metabolite profiles are documented for independent peer review, so that findings can be examined and reproduced.

Statistical validation and dissemination

Results are reported with their statistical limits and uncertainty. Findings are shared openly through the Knowledge Centre, with claims kept proportionate to the evidence.
